The Great Plains Black History Museum is located in Omaha, Nebraska. The mission of the museum is to Preserve, Celebrate and Educate ALL persons on the African American experience on the Great Plains. The Museum exhibits its artifacts and documents in an exhibition space at the Crossroads Mall (72nd and Dodge Streets) located across the hall from Barnes and Noble Booksellers. We preserve the legacy of African Americans on the Great Plains and accept donations from the public of artifacts and documents. We celebrate the lifestyle of African Americans on the Great Plains with events and exhibitions. We educate by collaborating with schools in providing research materials and primary source documents for study to acquaint persons with the living of African Americans on the Great Plains.
