Appfelstrudel is an advanced search engine for the iTunes App Store that uses semantic search technology to help you discover iOS apps based on meaning and context, not just keywords.
How It Works
Unlike traditional keyword-based search, Appfelstrudel uses machine learning embeddings to understand the semantic meaning of app descriptions. This allows us to find apps that are conceptually similar, even if they don't share the exact same keywords.

Appfelstrudel is built with modern web technologies:

- Database: Meilisearch for hybrid semantic + keyword search
- Embeddings: BGE-M3 model (1024 dimensions) with ONNX Runtime
- AI Summaries: Qwen3-8B language model for generating app taglines
- Templates: Askama for fast, type-safe rendering
Data Source
All app data is sourced from the public iTunes Search API. Appfelstrudel does not host, store, or distribute any applications. We are a search engine that indexes publicly available app metadata and links directly to the official App Store where apps are distributed by Apple Inc. and their respective developers.
