Description
Fold your iPhone Duo halfway and the page sits on the top half, with a mechanical typewriter keyboard filling the bottom half.
Halfpage is built for that tabletop pose. It also runs on any iPhone or iPad on iOS 27, with the keyboard below the page.
Close the phone and the outer display shows a read-only glance of your page. Open it fully and the page fills the screen, with the system keyboard. Hold it half-open like a book and the page sits on the right leaf.
There is no rich text, no formatting bar, no feed and no ads. There is only the page and the keys.
The keys are round and have shift, backspace, a space bar and a return lever. A type-head caret shows where you are typing, and paper grain sits under the page. Choose Classic for a cream body with black keys, or Midnight for a charcoal body with ivory keys.
Each key has its own sound, recorded from a Hermes Precisa 305, with natural variation from one press to the next. The return lever clunks, and a margin bell rings near the end of a line. Mute the sound in the app, or let the silent switch do it. Haptics add a small tap to each key press.
Hard mode removes backspace. A mistake is struck through rather than erased, so you keep moving forward. Turn it on in Settings.
Your documents sit in one list, and every change autosaves as you type. iCloud sync keeps your documents up to date across your devices, using your own iCloud account.
Export any document as .txt, .md or PDF. Halfpage works with VoiceOver.
Halfpage costs $2.99, paid once. There are no subscriptions, no ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics and no accounts.
