Description
Leash Lookout turns your daily dog walk into a map you own — house by house — and keeps the people you walk past, and the help you might need, one tap away. It works in any neighborhood.
KNOW EVERY HOUSE ON THE ROUTE
Tap any house to drop a sticker: friendly dog, water bowl out front, shady stretch, loose dog, keep off. Add a dated note so you remember next time. Everything starts private; each note has a switch to share it with neighbors who use the app.
YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, ANYWHERE
Add your area once — about a megabyte of house positions and addresses from OpenStreetMap — and every house around you becomes tappable, even without a signal. Search by address, name the unnumbered ones.
ALERTS THAT EXPIRE ON THEIR OWN
See a coyote, a snake, a skunk or a loose dog? One tap drops a time-stamped pin where you are standing. Pins fade out by themselves — 4 hours by default, your choice from 1 hour to never — so the map shows what is current, not last spring. Within about 60 m of a fresh sighting or a house you flagged, the app gives you a heads-up.
THE HOUSE TALKS BACK
If you live on the route, post a resident notice on your own house: friendly dog here, please keep dogs off the lawn, our dog is nervous — give space, water bowl available, gate may be open. Every walker sees it the moment they tap your house, and gets a gentle nudge as they pass. Notices appear without your name. Posting requires being near the house; this proximity check does not verify residence or ownership.
HELP WHEN IT MATTERS
Emergency vets nearest first with one-tap call and directions, plus clinics, groomers, boarding and daycare, pet stores and dog parks. Hand-checked around Orange County, California; from OpenStreetMap everywhere else.
WALK TOGETHER
Switch on optional live sharing during a walk to show other users your latest position. See who is out right now and say hi in your area's walk chat ("heading to the park, anyone?"). The feeds focus on roughly 15 km around you. Shared content is visible to other users, and chat messages disappear from the chat view after a day.
WALK TRACKING, KEPT TO YOURSELF
Record distance, time and route, with the phone in your pocket. Your recorded walk history is stored on your device.
HONEST BY DESIGN
One dollar, once. No subscription, no ads, no selling of data. Live sharing is off by default. Ending a walk requests removal of your shared position; stale positions are hidden after about four minutes. Anything unkind that a neighbor shares can be reported or hidden with one tap.
