Description
MUNELA is a black and white camera app for iPhone, developed by a Japanese photographer.
The brightest light overflows into the dark, and a soft glow close to halation and film-like grain come together to form the image.
This look comes from an entirely new method: as you shoot, a layer of light is added in real time from the iPhone's HDR signal, completely different from a filter laid over the top.
MUNELA will turn everyday life into something like a poetic image, or the view from space.
Observe with MUNELA how full of light this Earth is.
Three controls
GLOW, EXPOSURE and GRAIN are all there is, and you shape the image by feel. GLOW sets how much the light overflows, EXPOSURE how bright the image is, and GRAIN how much grain there is.
A frame to look into
Choose the ratio (1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 2:3 or 9:16) and the size, then shoot while you look inside the frame. Around it, choose a white frame, a black frame or frosted glass. Keep only what is inside, or keep the frame along with it.
Photographs and video
Video is recorded with the same light as your photographs, with or without sound. Both the front and back cameras work.
What MUNELA does not do
There is no subscription, no extra purchase and no ads. MUNELA does not collect your photos or any of your data. One purchase includes every feature.
