Description
Zero Say is a messenger built so that nothing about you is stored anywhere but on your own devices.
NO ACCOUNT DETAILS
No phone number, no email address, no name. Your identity is a 12-word recovery phrase that never leaves your device. Share your ID or QR code with the people you want to talk to; nobody else can find you.
END-TO-END ENCRYPTED, ALWAYS
Every message, photo, voice note and file is encrypted on your phone with keys only you and the recipient hold (the Signal-style double ratchet, X25519 and AES-256-GCM). The server relays ciphertext and cannot read a word. Sender identities are sealed, so the server does not even learn who is writing to whom.
NOTHING LOGGED
The server keeps no message history, no contact lists, no read receipts and no analytics. What it holds for you is a queue of encrypted messages until your phone fetches them, then nothing.
DISAPPEARING MESSAGES
Set a timer per chat: from one hour to 90 days. Maximum security chats go further: messages destroy themselves a fixed time after they are read, on both sides, and cannot be copied, saved or screenshotted.
YOUR DEVICES, TOGETHER
Use Zero Say on your phone and on your computer at the same time. Link the phone by scanning a code on the computer; chats, contacts and read state stay in sync between them. Secure notes and settings stay on the device they were made on.
EVERYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD EXPECT
Photos with their location and camera metadata stripped, voice notes, view-once media, reactions, replies, read receipts and typing indicators (both optional), safety numbers to verify a contact in person, blocking and reporting, a passphrase or Face ID lock, and a panic wipe.
HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS
Notifications are off by default. If you turn them on, Apple delivers a fixed "New message" wake-up with no sender and no content. The full list of what the app can and cannot protect is at zerosay.com/security.
Zero Say for Mac, Windows and Linux is a free download at zerosay.com.
