Description
AniMeteo turns a rectangular complication into a tiny animated window on the sky.
NOW
The current weather as a looping pixel-art scene: clouds that turn pink at sunset, rain in two layers with puddles, falling snow, soft fog banks, lightning that strikes the rooftop. Cloud cover, rain intensity, wind and visibility come from Apple Weather, so no two rainy days look the same. Next to it: temperature, conditions and today's high and low, or "Rain in 12 min" when a shower is on its way.
NEXT 12 HOURS
Your day as a 30-second timelapse. The sun and the moon cross the sky, daylight turns to dusk and night, and the weather blends from hour to hour. A coloured ruler along the bottom shows the whole 12 hours at a glance, and the complication tells you what changes next, such as "Rain at 3:00 PM".
NEXT HOUR
Rain and snow minute by minute: the next 60 minutes in 30 seconds, with the intensity as bars along the bottom. It uses Apple Weather's minute forecast, which is available in some countries; elsewhere the complication says so.
A LIVING SCENE
• Four sceneries: countryside, city, seaside and mountains; Automatic switches to the mountains above 800 m
• Walkers, cyclists, cars, dogs, deer, birds, planes and helicopters, chosen for the landscape and the weather, and once in a while a UFO
• Trees and fields follow the seasons, the moon its real phase
• Holiday scenes for Halloween, Christmas, New Year's Eve, Easter and Valentine's Day
DETAILS
• Three complications for rectangular slots, for example on Modular and Modular Duo faces or in the Smart Stack
• 1, 2 or 4 frames per second, chosen in the app; higher rates are smoother and use more battery
• A dedicated dark frame for the Always-On display
• Weather data from Apple Weather
• Your approximate location is used only to get the forecast
• No account, ads, tracking or subscriptions
• Apple Watch app for watchOS 10 or later; no iPhone app needed
The complications use the last location found by the app. After travelling, open AniMeteo on your Watch to update it.
