Description

The only ENSO app with actual forecasts. El Niño and La Niña shape winters across the globe — where it floods, where the snow falls, where the storm track goes. El Niño Forecast puts the real data in your pocket: the same indices NOAA uses, the same models the forecast centers run, updated on their schedules and honest about every date. CURRENT CONDITIONS • The weekly Niño 3.4 index • RONI, NOAA's official index since 2026 • The official NOAA/CPC outlook • A pan-and-zoom Pacific temperature anomaly map with options to view recent trends • Seventy-five years of ENSO history, scrollable, with official episodes shaded FORECAST EVOLUTION • The full multi-model plume: seasonal models from NOAA, NASA, ECMWF, the Met Office and more, with the multi-model mean that decades of verification say to trust • Forecast trends — watch successive monthly runs step the peak up or down, with a plain-language trend verdict MY FORECAST • Pick any point on Earth and get its own outlook: a plain verdict ("Wetter than average"), the map framed on your region, and a week-by-week timeline • Six-week and six-month forecast maps for temperature, precipitation, snowfall and the jet-stream level, as anomalies or percentiles • Percentile mode tells you how unusual — including "highest on record" ALERTS • Push notifications when the official status changes, when a new ONI posts, and when a new forecast arrives — a few a month, silence otherwise LEARN • Five short chapters on how ENSO actually works, with NOAA's own figures BUILT BY A PHD ATMOSPHERIC SCIENTIST Forecast model data is complex and difficult to interpret. The multi-model forecast maps are designed to be easy to interpret and actionable. Users can quickly filter by temperature or precipitation anomalies and time period to understand the likely trends this winter in their area. Experts and motivated users have the option to view individual models and draw their own conclusions. The app works offline with the last data received. No account, no tracking, no ads — your location never leaves your phone. Data: NOAA (OISST, CPC, NMME), Copernicus C3S, ECMWF S2S, ERA5. This is an independent app, not affiliated with NOAA.
