Description
St. Augustine is America's oldest city — 460 years of Spanish conquistadors, pirates, fires, revivals, and ghosts, all still standing in a six-block grid you can walk in an afternoon. Tasting Tours turns that walk into a game.
Pick an adventure, follow the map to your first stop, and check in with your phone's GPS to prove you made it. Solve a challenge — a photo, a question, a conversation with an AI historical character who remembers what happened there — and the app unlocks the next stop, plus points, hints, and badges along the way.
More than twenty adventures, built around real places:
• Founding St. Augustine — Menéndez de Avilés, the 1565 landing, and the oldest fort that never fell
• Pirates & Privateers — the raids, the ransoms, the coastal defenses built to stop them
• Fortifications & Defenders — three empires' worth of walls and gates
• Doors, Windows & Balconies — the city read through its architecture
• Lincolnville: A Freedom Neighborhood — the civil rights history written into these streets
• Food history, faith, hidden animals, romantic walks, and a seasonal Christmas Nights of Lights route
Built for walking, not scrolling:
• Real GPS check-ins — no cheating your way to the next stop
• Photo challenges, trivia, and branching conversations with AI characters tied to the history of each spot
• Hints when you're stuck, points and badges when you're not
• Works solo, with a team, or as a guest — no account required to start playing
• Offline-friendly, so a weak signal in an old fort doesn't stop the game
One tour is free to try. Most adventures are a one-time $7.99 unlock — no subscription.
