Description
Verbum Study is a native Bible reading and study app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
It is built around a word-level study layer: Strong's tagging, interlinear, lexicon, and concordance on the original languages, next to a modern reading surface. The default English text is the Berean Standard Bible. Forty-seven public-domain translations ship in the app — English editions such as KJV, WEB, ASV, Young's Literal, and Webster, plus public-domain editions in other languages — so you can read offline without creating an account.
Study a verse without leaving the chapter. Open Interlinear, Commentary, Concordance, Lexicon, or Compare from the same surface. Parallel two-column reading is available on iPhone as well as iPad and Mac. Search runs on-device over the translations you have.
Keep your own work: highlights, notes, bookmarks, and a journal. Optional reading plans (Bible in a Year, chronological, Gospel of John, M'Cheyne, Psalms & Proverbs) track today's reading and progress on the device. If you are signed into iCloud, that personal study data syncs through your private iCloud database — not a Verbum server. There is no Verbum account.
An optional on-device study library adds public-domain catechisms, commentaries, confessions, and Easton's dictionary. Daily verse reminders are local notifications, not push from a server. Home-screen and lock-screen widgets, plus a Control Center control, can open today's reading. Spotlight can find your notes, journal, and bookmarks.
One price: $7.99. Not a subscription. Not an in-app purchase. No ads, no tracking, no social feed, and no audio playback.
