Parchment AI is a minimalist writing environment designed for focus, flow, and long-form work. At its core, Parchment AI offers a calm, distraction-free editor for writing without interruptions. For users who wish to go further, the app includes optional AI-assisted vibe writing to help continue a paragraph, develop a scene, or extend a thought while staying in the same tone and style. Rather than locking users into a proprietary system, Parchment AI lets you use your own OpenAI API key, giving you direct control over how AI is used, when it is used, and what it costs. The app guides you through where to find and configure your key, making setup simple for anyone with a ChatGPT account. AI features are entirely optional. Parchment AI works fully as a traditional writing app without any AI enabled. To trigger an AI continuation, simply type a short instruction followed by ++!. Your instruction is used as the prompt, and the surrounding text provides context for a seamless continuation. No account is required to write. No data is collected by the app.
