Description

Image Minifier shrinks your images without changing their dimensions. Drop in PNG, JPG or WebP files and let the app recompress them using smart defaults that preserve visual quality while reducing file size. Unlike typical “optimizer” tools, Image Minifier focuses on same-format compression. Your images stay PNG, JPG or WebP – just smaller. Key Features - Same-format compression - Recompress PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP files without converting them to other formats. Two simple modes - Visually Lossless – default mode that keeps images looking the same to the eye while reducing size. - Aggressive – more compact files when you prefer smaller size over subtle quality differences. Smart skip logic Image Minifier automatically skips files that don’t benefit from recompression. If the result is not at least 1% smaller, or would get larger, the original file is kept. Optional overwrite Choose whether to: - create new files using a .compressed suffix, or - overwrite originals in place with a single checkbox. Drag & drop interface Just drag images onto the window or pick them from a file dialog. See per-file results: original size, new size and percentage saved. Great for developers and designers Ideal for web assets, app bundles, screenshots and UI graphics where you want smaller files, same dimensions. How It Works Image Minifier analyzes each image and re-encodes it using tuned settings for the selected mode. After compression, the app compares the original and new sizes: - If the new file is smaller by at least 1%, it is kept. - If the new file is larger or almost the same, the original is kept instead. This ensures you don’t waste quality on savings that don’t matter. Privacy - Image Minifier processes all images locally on your Mac. - No files are uploaded or sent anywhere. - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - Part of The Beaver Tools — a collection of focused Mac utilities.
