Description
Cville FoodLink connects local Charlottesville volunteers with residents who request food delivery from grocery stores, restaurants, and food pantries. These volunteers can then view and accept nearby requests, while chatting safely in-app. Cville FoodLink essentially functions as a volunteer marketplace, giving the community another option when it comes to dealing with age-related mobility issues, disease, and disabilities. Additionally, through a review and report system, users actively contribute to a caring community network.
Features:
-The Request Tab allows those in need to submit specific requests for volunteer help. There is no limit to any request, whether it's the delivery of an online order or a specific grocery list.
-The Volunteer Dashboard serves as a holding place for all open requests. Each request's location is generalized to give volunteers a sense of where the request is located, without compromising privacy.
-The Map Tab gives volunteers a sense of which areas of their community need the most help. No exact locations are ever shown.
-The app includes an in-app messaging system where users can exchange contact info and details regarding the food request.
-Volunteers can leave reviews and reports about their experience.
