Edo: Beyond the Gate

This app lets you revisit the shogun’s private quarters inside Edo Castle—an area that no longer exists today—brought back to life with the immersive capabilities of Vision Pro. The Honmaru Palace of Edo Castle once stood in what is now the Imperial Palace grounds. Today, only fragments of its foundations remain, making it difficult to imagine what the shogun’s residence truly looked like. 
This app focuses on Nakaoku, the most restricted of the three palace zones—Omote, Nakaoku, and Ooku—a space accessible only to the shogun and a select few.
