Description
BLE-Scout is a scanner/explorer tool for Bluetooth Low-Energy (LE) peripheral devices targeting BLE developers and makers.
- Scan for BLE devices and show discovered device information: device name, RSSI, TX-power, connectable state, advertised services, manufacturer data. Official service UUIDs and company IDs are shown as plain text (UUID lookup). Manufacturer data can be displayed as hex numbers or ASCII.
- Apply scanning filters for device name, manufacturer data, RSSI, connectable state.
- Show/hide comprehensive scan log output.
- Update UUID data from internet.
- Connect to BLE devices and discover the GATT table with services, characteristics and descriptors.
- Interact with the GATT table and read, write characteristics and descriptors. Subscribe to characteristic notifications and indications.
- Characteristic data can be displayed as hex numbers or ASCII.
- Comprehensive connect log output.
- Connect to multiple devices simultaneously.
- For known BLE UART services (e.g. Laird VSP, Nordic NUS etc.) a VSP terminal window can be opened for interactive virtual UART communication including logging to file.
- BLE-Scout provides a BLE-to-MQTT gateway which can parse device advertisement data with JavaScript and re-format and forward to an MQTT broker. MQTT credentials and topics are fully configurable. Great for BLE device development and testing.
