Establish a conversation link with anyone you see IRL. You don’t even need to have a conversation with the person, just use our app and add them as a friend. But instead of viewing all the people in your eye range in real-time on your phone, we show you everyone you saw 2 hours later. Our ‘Hindsight’ approach allows you to go about your time in public without having to check your phone and establishes the most comfortable and efficient situation for everyone. No more awkward and unwanted conversations. No more sharing your contact info with strangers or being pressured to do so. Discretion: Stopgap is a connection builder that enables relationships that might have never begun and allows you to conveniently establish messaging channels with people without sharing your phone number or personal social media accounts. Nobody with you in person (friends, family, or strangers) will even know that you added someone as a friend. The link is only established if they add you as well, so it is the ultimate form of a mutual contact exchange with someone you don’t know. Most of the time, it is extremely difficult or impossible to actually engage with the people we are seeing around us, leading to thousands of missed opportunities. Turn off your phone or go on other apps, you will still be online. Try to be around other people or else you really won’t get any use from the app. Later (2 hours minimum), when you are ready to view everyone you saw IRL, press the cloud in the top right. Click on the map and see precisely where and when you saw certain people. Add anyone as a friend (they won’t know that you specifically added them) or show your appreciation by liking their profile. Additionally, you control everyone who can see your profile on the map: filter by age and gender.
