Don Mr. is the first dating app built for American men. Through our research and insights, we have concluded that Latin American women are the most compatible partners for American men. Our app is built on two distinctive features: showing the profiles of potential matches from the corresponding dating app Flaca, the dating app for Latin American women, and providing content to encourage positive masculinity.
Don Mr.'s users are only able to see the profiles and interact with users from Flaca, the corresponding dating app in Peru and Argentina. Don Mr.’s users will not be able to see users from the same app. Unlike traditional dating apps, Don Mr. is built with the promise of fostering positive masculinity and serving as a guide for men to grow personally while on the journey to meet a compatible partner.
Among our unique features, we provide a 10-second pause after a user of Don Mr. sends 10 likes. During the brief pause, the user is presented with a cultural tip on Latin American poetry, music, travel, and cuisine. Additionally, we provide the Elevate screen for users to access learning modules about Latin American poetry, music, travel, cuisine, and courtship. After completing these modules, users are allowed to take quizzes to show their interests as a badge in their profile. For example, a user who has mastered the poetry section and successfully passes the section quiz will be awarded a poetry interest badge, which will be displayed in their profile. Additionally, we provide users with an advice forum, where men can share advice on dating and relationships through posts and comments. We expect this to serve as a platform for personal development. We have a manual moderator periodically checking this forum to ensure that inappropriate content is not shared, and instead conversations remain positive, constructive, and respectful. Another feature that differentiates us from other dating apps is our chat translation system. Users can send messages in English, and users from Flaca, the corresponding dating app, will see the message in Spanish. Translation will be done between English and Spanish, and each user will see conversations in his or her own language.
We have a manual moderation system that is supervised daily by our team members. Don Mr.’s users can block or report profile cards throughout their app experience.
