Euni – Client Notes is a macOS application designed in connection with a licensed clinician to streamline therapy documentation using on-device AI or an OpenAI API key (requires an OpenAI developer account and API key). Built specifically for therapists, counselors, and mental health professionals, Euni provides fast, intelligent, and (when in Local AI mode) private note generation through its Easy Note feature—without the need for any internet access, or cloud-based processing. Whether you follow CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic, IFS, EMDR, or other modalities, Euni helps you quickly create clear, structured progress notes using customizable fields and toggle-driven inputs. Choose your preferred note format (BIRP, SOAP, DAP, PIRP, etc.), select therapeutic approaches, and define interventions used—all with intuitive, secure local processing. Built for Privacy and Professionalism Euni is capable of running entirely on your Mac, and in Free Local AI mode no data is ever sent to the cloud, ensuring full HIPAA-aligned privacy and peace of mind. Requirements: Euni – Client Notes runs on Macs with Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3 chips) and requires at least 8GB of RAM, though 16GB+ is recommended for best performance when working with local AI models. To use Euni’s local AI note generation features, you’ll need to download the Ollama app, a macOS tool for managing and running local AI models. Download Ollama first from https://ollama.com/download To use Euni Client Notes with OpenAI, you need to create an OpenAI developer account and generate an API key that you will use to configure OpenAI in the application settings. Once Ollama is installed, install Euni™ - Client Notes and open the menu using the menu icon in the top right. We have pre-selected 5 different AI models that you can easily download and use with Euni by using the "Choose an Assistant" in the right sidebar menu. Some information about each model is available by clicking on the associated information icon (i). You may, if you'd like, download other models to use with Ollama on your machine and once downloaded and installed they will be available for you in the "Assistant" picker in the top toolbar. To download and install your model of choice for use with Ollama and Euni™ - Client Notes, open the Terminal application on your Macbook and install your preferred model. For example, to install and run the Gemma 3B model: ollama run gemma3:4b You only need to run this command once per model. After this, Euni will detect and allow you to use the model to generate notes directly on your Mac. Please be aware that larger models may not run as smoothly on Macbooks with less unified memory. We purposely provided in-app download options for models that should work on most Macbooks and sometime bigger, when it runs slowly, isn't better. Say goodbye to post-session note dread.
