THE IDEA OF THE APP
I very often put together magazine and website pages, feeds and conversations that consist of several screenshot strips in such a way that the cuts are “invisible”. Graphics programs can also do this, but usually require a comparatively large number of steps, which can sometimes be time-consuming. Stitch’n’Stick is optimized for this purpose.
FUNCTIONS
– Stitch images together vertically or horizontally and save them in the desired size.
– If desired, the window width/height determines the size of the final montage and thus the width or height of the finished image in pixels.
– Arrange images in the desired order by clicking on them – usually faster than moving them.
– Mask images during layout, make them transparent, move them forwards / backwards.
– Guide lines (can be hidden; snapping can be deactivated).
– Optimized for fast keyboard operation.
The first Macintosh didn't even have cursor keys, but precise moving and arranging is the fastest way to do it. The easy-to-remember keys can be found in the hideable sidebar and the tooltips.
LIMITS
Stitch’n’Stick cannot (yet) assemble the strips automatically. I have not found a really satisfactory tool here and prefer manual assembly. Transparency, foreground / background and zooming help to “stick” everything with pixel accuracy and precision, without cuts being visible.
