Description
Tilde Friends is a social network client that works with other applications that use the Secure Scuttlebutt protocol. It is designed for resilience and works with or without internet access. You decide who you connect with and who you follow, putting you in full control of your feed and your experience.
Tilde Friends stores everything on your own device, meaning you can compose new posts, read messages, and react with emojis while completely offline. Tilde Friends will sync up with your friends when you're next online or even just on the same Wi-Fi network - no cloud involved. You can even export your messages and apps to a file and email or AirDrop them to a friend.
Tilde Friends is built out of a collection of little applications built using its own code editor and runtime environment. If you're an ambitious programmer, you can follow the "edit" link at the top of the screen to make improvements while on your device and share them with your friends. Or create and share your own programs from scratch. Since Tilde Friends apps can't do much without your permission, it is safe to experiment and explore.
Don't expect the same infinite scroll, spam, and ads as from other social networks. Secure Scuttlebutt brings with it a slower, more deliberate, and mindful experience, built on mutual trust and respect as strong relationships should be.
