EncodeDecode: URL Encoding

EncodeDecode is a lightweight menu bar app that makes URL encoding and decoding quick and effortless. Designed for developers and power users, it offers convenient access and customization options to fit your workflow. How It Works Context-Aware Encoding: When the input is a URL or a URL component, the app encodes characters based on their context, ensuring compliance with URL standards (e.g., host, query, path). Fallback Encoding: If the input cannot be parsed as a URL or URL component, all characters are encoded except unreserved ones. Customizable Behavior: In settings, you can enable an option to always encode all characters except those in a customizable list, bypassing URL parsing entirely. By default, the allowed characters include unreserved characters as defined in RFC 3986. Additional Features Launch at Login: Set the app to start automatically when you log in, so it’s always ready to use. System-Wide Services: Use URL-Encode (⇧⌘E) and URL-Decode (⇧⌘D) services on selected text in any app via the macOS Services menu or with keyboard shortcuts.
