Description
Cancer is a common but difficult disease to treat.
The destruction of cancer cells and therefore the treatment of the disease is complicated due to their similarity to the body's own cells. Many of the conventional therapeutic and diagnostic methods are too unspecific and may also affect healthy cells.
Nonetheless, researchers at the University of Zurich are working tirelessly on new treatment approaches.
One of them is to use radiotracers for imaging and treating cancer. This method was developed by the Radiochemistry and Imaging research group at the University of Zurich and is showing promising results.
This app is based on the exhibition ‘Radiotracers – Hot on the Trail of Cancer’, which is currently on display at the Science Pavilion UZH at the University of Zurich but can also be experienced separately.
