GSA Factors: The amount of overdraft per irrigated acre (for overdrafted sub basins only). The sustainable yield of the underlying aquifer(s). The water demand of the most productive crops in the region. The components of the groundwater allocation program. The amount of surface water available within the GSA. Water District Factors: Historical water rights. Historic deliveries to the water agency (AF/AC and Total). Whether the water agency moves water through, or takes water from, the Sacramento River Delta. State Water Project (SWP) access. Central Valley Water Project (CVP) access. Natural surface water availability (Lakes, Rivers, Streams, etc.). Transferability of water Legal ability Physical ability Drainage issues Access to storage Hydra Scores fall within one of five ratings indicating the sustainable amount of water available on an average annual basis: Excellent Good Average Marginal Poor ▶ SOIL SCORE: THE CREDIT SCORE FOR AGRICULTURAL LAND Similar to the Hydra Score, the Soil Score is a simple and comprehensive means to evaluate the amount of management that a given piece of ground would require for productive agricultural activity. Components of the Soil Score: Slope Chemical Limitations Hydrologic Group Land Capability Classification USDA Prime Farmland Classification Soil Scores fall into one of five ratings that describe the chemical, physical, and hydrological characteristics important for farming: Excellent Good Average Marginal Poor ▶ SUBBASIN EXECUTIVE SUMMARIES Access expert-written summaries of each sub basin to understand the high-level regulatory environment affecting your local GSA. ▶ GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY PLAN (GSP) EXECUTIVE SUMMARIES Stay up-to-date with the most important aspects of your region’s GSP(s) including DWR approval status, implementation date, allocations, and more. ▶ ADDITIONAL FEATURES: Bulk upload your entire portfolio to immediately gain insights into your water risk exposure.
