Smart KneeSleeve enables you to measure thigh muscle activity during knee rehabilitation process.
The biofeedback feature visualizes electromyography (EMG) of quadriceps vastus lateralis, vastus medialis and hamstring muscles during exercises. Surgery and immobility can cause significant muscle loss, especially in the quadriceps, which is critical for knee function. The failure to activate a thigh muscle after knee surgery is a frequent neurological response that inhibits quadriceps function due to altered signals from the injured joint to the central nervous system. Such biofeedback helps to restore muscle strength, improve joint stability, enhance function, monitor rehabilitation progress and prevent knee re-injury.
Smart KneeSleeve measurement system consists of KneeSleeve, MCell and KneeSleeve app.
