Note: This program is limited. This program is limited by design to be as insanely simple as possible. But because of those limitations, it may not serve your needs. This program is also inexpensive because PDs don't make enough money to afford nicer things in life. I get it. But I'm also a PD and I just don't have the time to make something nicer.
Us PDs did not get into this profession to make a ton of money. We're either people who believe in the mission of holding the state accountable or we're just tired out and exhausted by the tragedy we witness every single day. Please hang in there. Our clients depend on us. I'm not selling this app to make money. I'm just putting it out there for a PD who might find it useful (or not), but, hey, at least I tried to save you some money on the fancy stuff.
If you're a PD outside of Oregon, this app might work for you; it might not. You can modify the default public defender agency quite easily. Again, this is very basic stuff. I'm tired and exhausted too, but I still believe in the mission. I could make more money by refining my programming skills and becoming a full stack programer. I could also make a lot more money doing IT (my former profession). I choose to stick it out because there are not enough of us to stop the tide of injustice against the most vulnerable people in our society.
That may sound awfully fatalistic, but I strongly believe that we will be judged not by the outcomes we achieve, but by the quality of our struggle. So continue to fight the good fight. Be tenacious for tenacity's sake. The quality of our struggle, not the outcome is how we will be judged. Judged by whom? Us PDs love the passive voice. I'm not here to preach. I have my beliefs and I'm sure you have your beliefs too. Life is hard, life is a struggle, life sometimes feels completely futile, but know that you too are worthy of love and affection.
