Once you finish setup, you don't have to go back to the app manually to check in or record that you are active.

Step 1. Create emergency contact.
Step 2. Decide how long you want the app to wait before sending out lost contact alerts. You can write custom messages to be included in lost contact alerts. It can be anything you want your emergency contact to be aware of, such as "please take care of my dog if I lost contact"
That's it! The app will take care of the rest.
