WHY THE NAME "FATUMA"?
Fatuma is a common name for the ordinary citizen, like Wanjiku (Kenya), Tinashe (Zimbabwe), Thandiwe (Southern Africa), and Kofi (Ghana), embodies the collective experience of marginalized communities across Africa. Named after Fatuma, a woman born into silence representing millions erased by systems of fear.
