GB-GAS Gas Rate & Heat Input Calculator A practical gas rate and heat input calculator designed for gas engineers, trainees and students. The app provides both traditional manual gas-rate calculations and camera-assisted OCR methods, allowing you to choose the most appropriate method for the meter you're working with. CAMERA-ASSISTED GAS RATING The app includes dedicated systems for both Metric and Imperial gas meters. Metric OCR uses the iPhone or IPad camera to monitor changes in the meter index and calculate the gas rate from the measured gas consumption and elapsed time. Imperial Meter Tracking uses the camera to monitor the movement of the meter test dial and calculate the gas rate without manually operating a stopwatch. The app guides you through the test and provides visual feedback as readings are collected and verified. MANUAL GAS RATE CALCULATOR Prefer the traditional method? HIGH AND LOW FIRE TESTING Where manufacturer information includes both high-fire and low-fire values, the app guides you through both tests in sequence and allows the results to be compared with the appliance information. MANUFACTURER INFORMATION Enter appliance manufacturer data before testing to provide a useful comparison between the measured result and the expected appliance input. Manufacturer information can also be skipped when a straightforward gas-rate calculation is required.
