Catenary

Catenary app has been developed as a quick and useful tool for installation engineers, installation analysts, riser engineers and others working in the offshore Oil & Gas industry. This application can be used in meetings or elsewhere as a quick reference tool to obtain numbers on Steel Catenary pipelines instead of going to a desk pc to obtain the requisite information. The user is required to input a few details about the pipe in question, the water depth, hang-off angle (w/ vertical, for e.g. 4.5deg) and if required dynamic amplification factor to obtain catenary top tension, bottom tension, catenary length, layback distance and sag bend bending strain. In future versions, flexible risers and umbilicals will be added and based on user feedback more results will be incorporated. For more accurate results, an FEA analysis should be performed and this app's intent is to be used as a reference tool only.
