The Story of Kangaroo Bay

Kangaroo Bay has an amazing history, from Aboriginal meeting area and hunting grounds through to the early days of Hobart Town and right up to modern times. With the help of Tasmanian artist Matt Calvert’s Plinth, the Kangaroo Bay app tells the story on a giant fold-out children’s book, made possible through the wonder of Augmented Reality. Located in the Kangaroo Bay Parklands on the edge of the Derwent, this app is ideal for children using the parklands to discover our shared history.
