Bosch AR

We love the beautiful, haunting work of Hieronymus Bosch, and were inspired by the annual Bosch Parade, in his hometown Den Bosch. Seeing Bosch come to life in the real world seemed a perfect challenge for AR so we decided to do this through the Bosch app. We wanted to create the technology for anyone with a smartphone to bring to life some of Bosch’s characters, painted circa 1500, into the world around them. To do this, we built an Augmented Reality experience for your smartphone, which allows you to pick from five Bosch characters, and bring them into your world. If you decide to select all 5 characters into your environment, you can create a fantastic Bosch parade all of your own. ---------- The technology behind Bosch is built on top of ARKit 3, but is powered by 6D.ai’s depth mapping technology, allowing the characters to live in your space and literally disappear behind real objects. Occlusion is a powerful way to add a new level of realism to AR. 6D’s technology layers scans your data locally, and uses that to hide our characters in a realistic way. ---------- The future of the app We’re exploring adding Magic Leap support and Wayfinding feature in v. 2.0.
