iPhone Screenshots
Description
ScanCode scans QR codes and barcodes visible on your Mac screen, or through a connected camera.
Use it when a code appears on your desktop and reaching for your phone feels unnecessary: payment QR codes, links, Wi-Fi codes, contact details, calendar events, product barcodes, and more.
Scan from your screen
Open a QR code in a browser, PDF, email, chat, or banking document and let ScanCode detect it directly on your Mac. No photo, no handoff, no extra device required.
Scan with a camera
If the code is printed on paper or shown on another device, ScanCode can scan it from a connected camera as well. You can also use Continuity Camera with your iPhone.
Inspect before you act
After detecting a code, ScanCode can show the result first so you can review it before doing anything else. Then you can copy the value, open links, or configure actions for different kinds of codes.
Private by default
Scanning happens locally on your Mac using macOS system frameworks. ScanCode does not send scanned content anywhere unless you explicitly ask an action to do that.
Useful for everyday QR codes
- open a payment in your banking app
- open a website from a QR code
- add authenticator keys to your password manager
- add contact cards and calendar events
- read Wi-Fi network codes
Advanced workflows
Power users can route scanned values into actions such as the clipboard, apps, files, shell scripts, Shortcuts, or HTTP endpoints.
