AWT Office Automation System (OAS) is an enterprise office automation application designed
indigenously by Group MIS Dept at AWT. It consists of three modules; minute sheets, inter office
notes (ION) and official letters (OL). Staff and managers use these documents extensively for
processing / approval of official matters. Currently all official correspondence is carried out using
manual files. Manual filing requires care, maintenance, storage, has cumbersome search procedures
and slow processing/physical carriage. These shortcomings have led to a decision to replace current
system with a new comprehensive system that will provide solid infrastructure for efficient filing
system.
OAS is an important tool which can enhance efficiency, security of information and reduce effort.
