Description
Maria is an iPad app for learning to read English. The app progresses over five levels, with each level offering Montessori-inspired activities where the user practices essential reading skills. There are 35 activities in total, with over 400 words, images, and audio recordings.
Level 1 of Maria begins by teaching students to recognize individual letter sounds in sets of three or four letters at a time.
Level 2 of Maria teaches students to build, decode, and read three-letter phonetic words.
Level 3 of Maria teaches students to decode, read, and spell four-letter phonetic words.
Level 4 of Maria teaches students to decode, read, and spell words with a magic 'e' and words containing digraphs.
Level 5 of Maria teaches students to recognize words of common colors, numbers, and other sight words.
