Flora Incognita - Automated plant species identification The Flora Incognita App enables you to identify plants automatically, quickly, and accurately. The identification process is intuitive: take a picture of the plant with the camera of your smartphone or tablet. The unknown plant is then identified automatically within seconds. In addition to the specific plant species name, a species profile page presents further information such as characteristics, distribution or protection status of the species. You can also save, export or share your plant observations on different social media channels. The app contains: • automatic identification of 4800+ plant wild growing species • extensive, illustrated species portraits with a wide range of information on each plant species • search and filter species for various criteria • create and export observation lists • share and export observations The Flora Incognita App goes beyond a simple identification app. Under the menu item "News" you will always find the latest news and various citizen science projects. Comments: • For now, we do only support a limited number of ornamental and indoor plants while focusing on wild growing species. Flora Incognita is a joint project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN), the Thuringian Ministry of the Environment and the Thuringian Foundation for Nature Conservation (Naturschutzstiftung Thüringen) in accordance with the guidelines for funding research projects to implement the National Strategy for Biodiversity.
