The Safe Food Handler Certificate Program is ANSI accredited (Accreditation ID 1243). You use it to earn a food handler certificate recognized by US States and Localities.

The certificate program is designed for self-guided use.

The app guides you quickly thru seven levels of instruction, quizzes, and examination (assessment). The app also manages registration, licensing, and issuing of the certificate and eBadge.

Here is what you need to use the Safe Food Handler Certificate Program.
1. A valid email address so you can register with the program and authenticate your name and email address.
2. Payment of the program license fee ($15 or less). Payment is made within the certificate program app.
3. A 'seat time' of approximately two hours to learn, quiz, and complete the examination.

The application will prompt you through the self-guided program. All steps must be completed. There is no provision for partial work or previous experience.

Use the LEARN function to view the seven levels of course instruction. For each level read the material and practice your recall by taking a quiz. Do this several times to increase your recall and skill. Experienced food handles may simply need a quick review.
o Complete a ten-question QUIZ for each of the seven levels of instruction.
o Pass the EXAM with at least a 70% score. If you do not pass an exam, you must complete additional quizzes before attempting another exam.
o When you pass the exam, you will be issued a course certificate valid for 3-years along with an eBadge.

The eBadge works as a handy and portable form of the course certificate. The eBadge includes a unique number that anyone can use to verify your certification at the cogneti.com website.
